Hi! Thanks for stopping by for a little story snack! This one’s 100 words for the Friday Fictioneers blog challenge for 19 June 2020, based on a photo prompt.
The Photo Writing Prompt

Description, for my blind/visually impaired readers. Through a window with a sheer valence, we see shows and the bottoms of legs on a ladder.
The Inspiration
I wanted to use characters from my paranormal novel They All Died Smiling so I have a chance to share Kassidy and her family with you. This takes place when she’s ten and living on the farm with her Aunt Beck, Uncle Walt, and their four boys.
Genre: Realistic Fiction from a Paranormal World
Word COunt: 100
The Story: Gutters
“Kassidy, I don’t want you up on the roof cleaning gutters.”
“Why not?”
“One of the boys can do it.”
“Aunt Beck, it’s gonna storm soon, and I bet there’s a ton of leaves in there.”
“But you’re…” She flaited
“A girl?”
“No, ten.”
“I can do it just as well as the boys. Besides, the stew’s in the oven and I’ve got time before I make the biscuits.”
Tears filled her eyes. I ran over and hugged her hard. “And you’re busy with Uncle Walt. I’ll be fine.”
She nodded. “If you fall off that ladder, I’ll kill you.”
